The dusty pink trend

The dusty pink trend

If fluorescent is the bright and irreverent trend of Spring Summer 2012, then dusty pink is certainly the elegant and romantic one.
Whether it is cream, rosechampagne or any other shade, it is immediately recognisable and has already won over a great number of designers and celebrities, as we witnessed at the last Golden Globe Awards (1. Charlize Theron in Dior; 4. Heidi Klum in Calvin Klein) and Cannes Festival (2. Marion Cotillard in Dior; 3. Naomi Watts in Marchesa).

Evening gowns, cocktail dresses, shirts and blouses, pumps, sneakers, pashminas and scarves, skirts and t-shirts. The dusty pink explosion may be due to the come-back of the romantic woman, although more audacious and aggressive re-interpretations of the style are not lacking, such as that of Alexander McQueen (cover picture).

Perfect with black and white, dusty pink can easily go with bright colours as well, see Marion Cotillard‘s shoes for example, therefore this season’s colours, pastelled and loaded with white: charm and bon-ton for a sophisticated vintage style.
