Blue Valentino

Blue Valentino

The Valentino catwalk was a triumph, as the closing show for fashion week in Paris.
The Roman fashion duo composed of Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli presented an amazing collection dominated by the colour blue. Inspired by the night, by its hues and the emotions it triggers, both the public and reviews were raving over the Valentino haute couture for Autumn Winter 2012 2013.

This minimal show presents a sophisticated and graceful woman, very little makeup and no jewellery, long and sober dresses, fascinating and distinguished by their aura of diffused sacredness. Laceprecious adornments and printed and applied organza cut-out motifs for a collection that is strikingly different from the typical voluptuousness of Rosso Valentino.

Capes, velvets, soft and pleated lines, old embroidered fabrics. These 78 creations present a romantic woman, with a hint of retro, as seen by the light dusty pink colour, the blouses and the gold trim.

This beautiful “rhapsody in blue” was also greatly appreciated by Mr. Garavani, and shows us how the fashion house has maintained a solid creative management, and there is no lack in production or shortage of well-received creations, even though over the last few years, since the founder retired, it has been passing hands (there are rumours that it has recently been bought over by part of the royal family of Qatar, Financial Times).
