Lady Dior As Seen By – A union between Art and Fashion

The famous Lady Dior bag, unfailingly in the limelight. The show entitled Lady Dior As Seen By is about to open, with the participation of the winners of the Lady Dior As Seen By / A New Generation of Italian Artists project.

The event will take place at the Triennale of Milan where the unchallenged protagonists are art and fashion, a union that the fashion world is increasingly focusing on.

Lady Dior was created in 1995 and was the bag given to the princess of Wales Lady Diana, directly by the first lady of France, during her visit to Paris to see the Cezanne show. What made this fashion design masterpiece so famous? The simple fact that Lady D was so taken by it that she requested one in every version.

Going back to the ‘Lady Dior As Seen By‘ event, the exhibition presents more than eighty works of art produced by world renowned contemporary artists with the aim of reinterpreting the charm of this legendary bag. We are happy to have several Italians among these artists, including Luca Trevisani from Verona, Paolo Roveresi, Loris Cecchini, Carla Mattii and the Vedovamazzei duo (Stella Scala and Simeone Crispino).

Italy is a source of excellence and the Dior Fashion House is aware of this; for this reason the ‘maison’ decided to establish the Dior Prize in its search for young talent. The winners of this contest, called among the artists of the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, were Alessandro Carano and Davide Stucchi who paid homage to the bag, the icon of the Dior style, in a new and captivating way.

The Lady Dior As Seen By show will be held at the Triennale of Milan from October 11 to November 4.
