Head to toe prints

Head to toe prints

You must always keep a printed dress in your closet for the summer season, because they often come back in style.
In fact, for the Spring Summer 2012 season many prints have been seen on international runways, on various pieces and inspired by various styles.

Floral prints are the first and foremost, interpreted in many different ways (retro, high-tech, oriental etc.). We enjoyed those presented by ErdemMiu Miu and Diane Von Furstenberg. Car prints are next in line, as presented by Akris, as well as the animals of Peter Jensen or Victoria Beckham. Landscape prints are certainly not lacking, such as those of Emilia Wickstead, or geometric prints by Jonathan SaundersPreen by Thornton Bragazzi and Julien Macdonald. Lastly, the very original “informal” patterns of Basso & Brooke, or the patchwork presented by Emilio Pucci who brought an amazing collection to the runways.

In sum, there’s something for everyone, from romantic and bucolic, to aggressive and post-modern. This trend intrigued many designers this season, some of whom played with print in their entire collection, such as Anna Sui for example. Printed fabric is usually an element that dominates the entire outfit, and is therefore either used for details or for entire dresses, but until this year we had never seen head to toe prints before, including multiple combinations and multiple layers of prints.
