Little Red Riding Hood sets the fashion trends (even without the hood)

Who would have thought that the protagonist of the Little Red Riding Hood fairytale could become a style icon? Well, this autumn the red coat is a must in order to be really fashionable.

A succession of different styles and versions, close-fitting or oversized, scarlet red or almost burgundy: it does not matter! The red coat is always charming and sexy.

Designers love it and that is why it dominates in all its forms on the catwalks of this year’s autumn-winter fashion shows.

From Moschino to Calvin Klein, from Jil Sander to Vivienne Westwood, the “red fever” is spreading all over the planet and even the most popular stars cannot do without the Little Red Riding Hood charm.

For this autumn / winter 2012 – 2013   designers have not restricted themselves to experiment the wide variety of “shapes in red” but have made the presence  of this colour come to life on a myriad of different fabrics.

Red , in all its shades, stands out on any item of clothing and certainly does not go unnoticed.

If a fashion designer were to propose a collection based entirely on this colour, the end consumer would take the liberty to classify each item as an “must-have item”; while this would not happen if the protagonist were  the usual and classic black .

Why? The answer is very simple and we reply by stating: “red is unique, red is hot!”; and red is ready to warm us up from the freezing cold that is reaching Italy.
